====== A Visit to South City ====== On October 16, 2008 I visited South City, which is located on the Southern Continent. It is the capitol with a population of 2.5 billion people. I drove there on a freeway that was more of a trap than anything else because I was stuck for hours. The smog is so thick that you can’t see more than 10 feet ahead of you. Now I’m driving to my hotel that is supposedly ‘five stars’, but it looked like a tall, shoddy, dilapidated tower. As I parked three police cars flew past with light flashing and sirens blaring. I went into the hotel and found infinite health code violations. Cockroaches on the floor and flies on the buffet table. The food there looked and smelled like it was more than a week old. People were in the lobby, but no one was at the front desk. So I asked someone where the front desk attendant was. They replied that they went missing more than a week ago. My suite was reserved, so I got the key by entering a code in the lock-box. I went back outside to get my bags, but found that my car was gone. I looked up and down the street. I saw a guy getting mugged, some prostitutes, and drug dealers, but no car. I went back into the hotel and up to my room. The room was just as bad as the rest of the hotel and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in more than three months. I turned on the television to watch the news. It’ reported robberies downtown and a hostage situation, so I turned the TV off. The police sirens were so loud I couldn’t sleep. Gun shots rang out in the hotel. Probably someone getting shot. I called the police, but got put on hold. I stayed up all night and left the hotel at sunrise.
